From time-to-time I see notes on here about Anza knives and the comments are generally good. I have looked at their website and they make mention of annealing the files so that the blades can be ground easier. However, I have never seen anything on a subsequent heat treat...are the Anza blades heat treated again after being ground??

If so, what do you know about their process? And, what do you think of Anza?

Thanks,
:)

I have a Anza Boddington. I like it very much...super sharp...the "AK-47 of the knife world" crude but tough, effective, and appealing in it's own way.

Good files like Nickleson [IIRC] are still made of W-1 steel. So you anneal the file and HT as W-1 !!

Why, yes.....Anza knives are heat treated after they are ground, and they are quite hard.

They make a great, great knife, and not just for the money, either. I have a couple customs that are extremely nice by Anza.
