Hi BF Members,
Wasn't sure if I should post this in the folding or fixed blade category but here you go. I have three New in Box sets of 1997 limited addition commemorative Combat Knives that include an Applegate-Fairbairn fixed-blade fighting dagger by BOKER, Germany, and Applegate-Fairbairn folder by GERBER.
These sets were denied entry while trying to enter a Scandinavian country that does not allow double edged blades.
3000 individually-numbered set were made. Mounted on the original-issue American walnut wall plaque (removable), serial-numbered Gerber/Boker COA and sticker, a soft-cover book with illustrations and text in English & German, and Colonel Applegate's Autographed photo. The sets are in the original retail boxes with the cardboard paperwork, foam insert, and photo.
I have three complete "new in box" sets. Set 1187, Set 1573 and set 1581. Set 1581 was in a Gerber counter top display and has some small stains on the fixed blade. It could be rust stains or something from being shown to the public but it is not perfect. Spots are only on the one knife and looks like only on the front side. If it does not sell, I am going to cerakote it, have a kydex sheath made for it and throw it in my work truck.
