On that thread I got some good advice from a few blokes basically telling me not to mod something I plan to sell, let the buyer do it if they wish. Solid advice and I listened regarding the handle but I had already stripped the blade coating.

No big deal though? It's just a stripper, everyone wants a TGLB, especially a wicked PROTO version with a recurve and pointed pommel? Wrong, lol. I was inundated with low balls all the way to offensive messages that the knife could be fake because I didn't etch the logo. Whatever, I decided to withdraw the knife and appreciate it for myself. I didn't make it a super shiny stripper nor did I aim to make it look like an LE. I wanted it to look rough and tough and that's what I got.

Now I know that if I mod a blade, it's for keeps

I just gave the knife a belting and it was awesome. Without further ranting, here are some pics!

On a side note, these "Green and Black" G10 handles are more like Grey and Black. They go Green when wet though, which is pretty cool but unusual in my experience with G10.

Cheers!

Yeah it's tough,, some strippers sell and some don't.
A lot of the TGLB's that have been selling high and fast on the exchange are coated.
Oh well, it's still a killer blade for sure 👍🏻

Definitely looks Rough and Tough, Bada$$, looks like something id love yo have around when/if apocalypse starts lol

I think you can modify it and still get a Good price-However I believe yours had seen extensive use-Correct-Incorrect? A used knife is not in most cases going to sell for the same price as a new and unused one (Usually), Just bang on it!!

Definitely a killer blade, I love the pointed pommel!

If/when the apocalypse happens, this will be strapped to me

I agree you can mod them and still get a premium. Mine has been lightly used BEFORE being stripped (had very minimal coating wear, non even came off) and had not been used since I stripped it - until I took these photos today that is. It just had a rough finish underneath/machine marks. No big deal, I will continue to thrash it for being so ugly :D (just joking it looks awesome to me:thumbup:)

I personally don't think your price was too out of line. It is a proto, which to me makes it even more rare. If I had the cash, I would have bought it at your last asking price. All I'm set with now is trade items brother. You have a grail in my eyes mate.

That's a great knife and has a really awesome look to it !!

Agreed on the above points;
~ it sure has a tough and bad as anything look to it.
~ the pommel is way better looking than the normal tg
~ asking price was fair considering its rarity & uniqueness

And lastly, keep giving her the beating she deserves :D

Yup. Totally fake. Send it to me for proper disposal. I'll even pay for shipping.

:)

I've paid for strippers and mods. I now only strip of mod blades that I've used and know that I'll keep using.

Looking good buddy.

Now it just has character and a story. the steel is the steel all is missing a little coating. I think it looks fine. For a knife that I use often and hang onto, I prefer the stripped version personally. The coating just gets beat up anyway.

Looks great. I didn't remember one coming with a bit of recurve. So are you going to go ahead with the handle mod now that you plan on keeping it?

Hey brother--keep it and use it and love every second of it! That one looks absolutely awesome... you can't go wrong having it in your collection!
