Hey All,

I'm sorry if this is not the appropriate place and no hard feelings if it needs to get moved.

I am a young, lifelong knife collector and enthusiast who is very interested in apprenticing (labor for learning). Specifically slipjoints and traditional hammer and anvil smithing; but I'm open to and interested in any aspect of cutlery from kitchen to martial.

I am located in the general Portland, Oregon metro area and would be more than willing to travel anywhere from Forest Grove to Oregon City. Probably further if the offer is extended.

I am 24. College educated. Polite, hardworking, and an absolute knife devotee. I am free for the remainder of the Summer, and would be open every weekend and some weekday evenings during the school-year as I am a special education teacher. If you have a kid, I'm happy to do some free tutoring haha.

Again I apologize if this is the incorrect place for this, I just wasn't sure where else to start.

Thanks in advance for any help and consideration,

Sean

You might try posting this on IForgeIron.com also. It's a forum devoted to all things smithing.

Hey I am in Portland, OR.

I can't really help you with the slip joints but you should stop by Oaks Bottom Forge in Sellwood.

I appreciate your interest, but this isn't the place for such a request. I am closing the thread. I suggest you make a post in Tech Support and ask where the best place for such a request would be.
Good luck, and please let us know how your search turns out.
