April MYB thread. Spring into action!

Went for a "short" walk for lunch today. Just because one has a knife doesn't mean one is prepared......The little tiny map at the trailhead didn't make me think it would be very far, and by the time I realized I was not back at the parking lot, I really had to boogie to make my last appointment of the day.

6.5 miles on foot....

6.5+30.75+37.25 BP's TTD.

I'll likely post a thread, but Imma hafta leave out the details of "exploration" (i.e. being totally lost.....)

Started at the "YOU ARE HERE" and by the time I got to the north end of Kendrick Pond (top of the map) and pulled out my cell/GPS, I realized I was a very long way from the parking lot that I assumed I was looping back to (more than 3 miles). Unfortunately for me I only got one gear, so I just stumped back to my truck by the road.

Took the weekend to help my folks move from 3000sqft on 3 acres to 1800sqft on a postage stamp. Doesn't add up here, but I wasn't a total lazy bum.
Tonight, 6 mile road ride for 1.5 BP's, and 45 minutes of volleyball for fun.

32.5 BP's TTD.

With the spring weather in full arse kicking mode, we decided to get outside away from the treadmills. A cardio/full body workout today doing this: (Disclaimer: I had no idea we were gonna do this, hence the shorts and running shoes. Had I know in advance I would have wore long pants and boots.......and gloves. I tore my hands up pretty good)

Today:

Burpees and Pullups

Double Holy Crap!!

Re-opened the wounds on my hands from the chopping on Wednesday doing pullups today.

This sucks

Getting old(er) ain't for sissies. I have a friend bearing retirement age that has talked about what the fallout is going to be of trying to stay in shape into your 50's and 60's. Of course, he is 64 and can still run a mile in under 6 minutes - like 5:30 or so - when he's healthy and not nursing some injury. I hate riding with him 'cause he's half my weight and more than a decade older and I can't really keep up with him....he's a friend tho, so he slows down a little so I don't have a heart attack or something trying to keep up.

Hope your injuries heal up soon, Tom. The bonus is, when you get yourself in better shape, there's all that virility and stuff you'll have ;).
