AR400 Steel?

Anybody heard of AR400 steel? I believe that is some kind of wear resistant steel or something.

It's apparently used for excavator buckets, etc. I don't know what kind of knife it would make, but have my doubts.

You can see the chemical analysis on www.steelife.com It's low carbon [.14% ]makes it useless for knives.It's designed for wear resistance only.

Still good for guards and the like if you have a really good deal lined up.

I came across some from a local knifemaker, I have made a few blade out of it that I am using here and there, I no that it is very difficult to work with. I was just curious, but I guess I will S-can it. It does tarnish and rust quickly. Thanks
