I made this knife as close to the original one seen in The Lord of the Rings. There are a lot of stylized versions out there, but I did my best to follow every detail of the movie knife, down to every elvish letter. That being said, I'm no elvish smith and this is probably a bit more rugged than the movie version. The engraving is slightly rough in texture (done by hand) and the brass accents on the scabbard are made from folded sheet brass instead of cast brass like the original.

The knife is hand forged from a leaf spring, and precisely heat treated in an electric oven. This knife is not just a movie prop! It has a 1/4" thick blade, and feels heavy and solid in the hand. This blade packs a punch!

Specs:

OAL: Approximately 18"

Blade Length: 12.25"

Handle Length: 5.75"

Blade Thickness: 0.25"

Steel: Leaf Spring (Most likely 1070-1080 or 5160)

The elvish inscription on the blade (translated: Foe of Morgoth's Realm) is hand engraved.

Ironwood Handle

Brass Pommel

The scabbard is a wooden last covered with leather with riveted brass sheet end caps.
