Granted I like the fact that the arc light is water proof to 50ft, made of a stronger material than plastic ... but really a solitaire minimag for $7 would fit the same bill as well.
Sorry Ryan, but saying that the solitaire can fit the bill is like saying that a AA MiniMaglite provides the same light output as a Surefire E2E. I have a solitaire and it did VERY poorly against my Arc. IMO, the solitaire just does not compare to the Arc AAA, period.
I've tested my Arc against my white Photon II. At first, the Photon does appear to be
slightly brighter than the Arc, but after a while it begins to dim a little while the Arc doesn't even flinch. Comparing the two, IMO, the Arc excels in that the beam is in a concentrated area as where the Photon's beam is very WIDE in circumference. Besides this, the Arc has its' Sun mode and Moon mode to use the easy to find AAA battery to the fullest. Also, should I again mention the rhino tough exterior of this little light and it also being waterproof to 50 ft.? IMHO, the Photon is good, but the Arc is much better.
The Arc has replaced my need for carrying my Brinkmann Rebel Led flashlight to work. I always ended up taking off the Brinkmann from my belt after the sun came up and had to worry about not losing it. With the Arc on my keychain, I will always have a quality LED light close at hand when I need it.
