Arc AAA "premium"?

LOL. :D

In that case, you'll be plenty satisfied with the standard -- but from one flashaholic to another, I think you'll be happier with the extra few bucks spent on the LED-lottey to buy some favorable odds with either the Premium or the CPF edition.

For those of us who EDC another "main" light already (I used to use a LSH-S, now it's been permanently displaced by a TW4 due to the clip), you're right, it's a case of having a merely "good enough" backup.

But for a guy with your high-end taste in lights, I think that the few extra bucks is worth it just for the "geek factor."

Yeah, I know what you mean--I'm probably going to "have to have it" one of these days, but I just bought another L4 yesterday and ordered two balisongs today so I'm a little short on cash (good thing yesterday was payday  ). I hope they decide to do a black HAIII CPF version of the AAA Premium, that black HAIII looks great.

By the way, fishface--I totally missed the "knife content" part of your post. I carry either a Buck/Mayo or my customized LCC/DA with my Arc AAA.

We're having a "vote" of sorts on the "ARC Flashlights" sub-Forum of CPF.

PS: I'm waiting for my wallet to recover from my latest binge, too. :) SF TW4, M6 with FM27, MT Scarab Exec., Strider MSC SLCC, ShivWorks 'LilLoco, EKI Karambit, Simonich Talonite Bitterroot with Snoody belt and a Blaire Toxic Ti Vamp Slayer..... My last binge before the holiday season. :)

What is the TW4 again?

I sold my Strider SLCC to a guy here on BF...was a very nice knife but it didn't fit my needs. It was hard for me to carry too.

This little powerhouse is an E1E with a KL4 bezel/head on it the KL4 is a 5 watt LED that is regulated for battery life.I have a L4,E2e and G2 with the P61 and an E1e/KL1 on the way now.Leaving the G2 the only odd one out. The other surefires can be considered lego goodies, all can be swapped around for different needs and applications. You do need a MN01 for the E2e bezel on the E1E body but its a good idea to have spare LAs anyway.

Ah..thanks. Didn't know they called the E1e+KL4 a TW4. Does your G2 w/ P61 get really hot? My friend just ordered a G2 and I told him not to run it for a long time but he's going with the stock p60. I got the E2e instead of the G2 mainly because of the extended runtime and pyrex lens.

I haven't observed any smoke yet. I think that really the only way to melt the lens would be if it were set down on its nose and left on then it couldn't effectivly dump the heat I haven't needed more than a couple of seconds of use to see what I needed 120 lumens for. There is an ultra clear glass lens available for the G2, Flashlightlens carries them or will be shortly. The P61 is way too bright for close up work IMO

:)

I've "melted"/bubbled two Lexan lenses on my Z2 so far with the P61 HOLA. I'm now using a C2 Pyrex lens bezel for this application.

Granted, that's running the lamp for extended durations......

:)

As for the TW4, it's "TW" because it was first "combined for retail" by Tactical Warehouse, a favorite online retailer of mine.

It's *_slightly_* "brighter" in this combo of KL4 + E1e than an Arc LSH-P, and offers a factory pocketclip and LOTC for those who wish to carry in this manner.

As far as I'm concerned, the difference between the Arc LSH-P and the TW4 is simply "different strokes for different folks."

You definitely got me beat--though I just added a BM42SSC to my list. I'm headed over to the ARC forum to check out the "vote." Thanks for the info.

:)

Glad to be of service.

=)

Peter's even put up a list of the past-run colors as well as what's do-able in HA3, what will raise costs (ie. TiNi), etc.

=)

It's an "informal" vote -- but considering that Peter acted on such votes for special projects like the Spec. Ed. LSH-P Fraen LP, it's better to have your "vote" out there than not.
