I've heard that the ARC light is very good and puts out more light. The CMG is well made but not that bright. It is waterproof and has a long burn rate as you mentioned.
I guess it all depends on what you want. The CMG is a great little "task" light. But don't expect it to light up the trail in front of you much past a few feet on a dark night.
I like my AAA Arc. Reviews say that it is the brightest single AAA flashlight available - I believe it. It is small, lightweight, well made and replacement batteries are cheap. A great key ring light. It stays bright until the battery is almost completely dead (unlike other lights whose output diminishes rapidly when the battery charge drops.)
The Arc is smaller, so it may be more likely to be with you when you need a light. The Arc is also brighter, so it may serve you better when you need a light. If your application is such that you need to have the long runtime without changing batteries, the infinity wins out.
I can't comment on the Infinity since I don't have one. Based on the runtime and the reviews (see www.candlepowerforums.com for discussion and links), it doesn't look to be very bright.
I have an Arc-AAA LE (hard anodized and supposedly a better grade of LED). The wear resistance of the hard anodization (type 3) is very impressive. The Arc-AAA has a volatge regulator that keeps the voltage going to the LED in the optimal range for brightness. It works well; I placed a used AAA battery from my PDA (10-12% remaining according to the PDA) and the Arc-AAA was as bright as with a new new cell. The Arc-AAA is at least as bright as a Photon 2 (comparing white LED's).
If you want brighness, go for the Arc-AAA.
If you want long runtime, go for the Infinity.
