ARC-LOCK issues

Is it normal to hear the spring in the Arc-Lock when opening it regularly?
It sounds like the spring on my pentagon elite is straining when i open it and i just got it.

I have a pentagon 2, and on mine I can't hear the spring, but it could be that as the spring moves it is rubbing on something, I wouldn't worry, although I could be confused by your description.
