That is a tough one for me to answer, because I don't know how Mr. Dozier heat treat's his steel. He does do a great job of it, and I think you will be happy with our's also. We spent quite awhile refining our process for D2, working with CRUCIBLE STEEL, who we get the steel from. CRUCIBLE also happens to be just down the street from us, and we enjoy a close working relationship. We also leaned heavily on Darrel Ralph, who not only is the designer of the knives, but works alot with CRUCIBLE'S D2.

This stuff is TOUGH!

One thing I have never worried about is Camillus' heat treat ability.

All of my Becker, Arclite, USMC, and pilot's knives hold edges beyond belief, and are tough as hell.

I'm certain this won't change with the D2 steel.
