Are automatic knives legal to carry with a concealed carry permit?

....Plus, I'm permitted to carry a handgun so I doubt a cop with even an ounce of common sense would care that a knife I have is not allowed when I also have a handgun.

They can be pretty persnickety here in TN about knives. Anything over 4" blade is unlawful carry with same penalty as doing same with handgun, and the Handgun Carry Permit doesn't include the knives.

As you say though, you'd probably have to piss the cop off to be charged for it -- of course, if you were popped for something else they might well tack the charge on to round things out.

here in florida I cant find a law on blade lenght. if there is one then I would love to know about it too.

There is no max blade length in Florida, (as long as it's a common pocket knife). I had a LEO that pulled me over ask me what I used a Vaquero Grande for. I said, "work". End of discussion.

a long time ago I read in the Orlando sentail newspaper about a man was caught chasing his father in-law down a ally with a sword that he bought at the local flemarket. they said there was no law about carrying a sword around. oh he went to jail alright. That is when I did a search on the blade length. From my understanding California has a law stating how long the blade can be. I went to the DA and they could not find one for Florida too.

I live in Ohio and I plan on getting my concealed carry license when I turn 21 in a couple months. I really was wondering if anyone knows if I can also carry an automatic knife with a permit in Ohio? I've searched the internet quite a bit and I can't find any information on the subject.

Ohio CHL is written for handguns. thats what covers, handguns. heres the link to to the new booklet.

i spent a little time with the prosecutor in my county after an argument with a deputy sheriff in a court house,(15 years ago) about a knife i was carrying.
per the deputy the knife was illegal, per the prosecutor, it wasn't. Ohio has no length law, its all about intent. according to the prosecutor, switch blades, double edged, and ballistics are still not legal to carry.

some municipalities have laws that go against state law and add length restrictions and such but Ohio regs still deal with intent.

my guess is Toledo has a restriction that goes against ORC. (Ohio Revised Code) google Ohio Revised Code its all on the net.

I'm not a cop, but I am a licensed firearms instructor in Ohio as well as use of force. if you want to know more about the rules, go to the prosecutor, not a cop.
