Are Busse knives the only high end production knives actually being used?

Ok, so I look around and all I see is videos and pics of Busses taking hard core use. Where are all the hard use videos of other high end production knives. Where are the videos of Randalls being used? Where are the videos of Strider and Mad dogs being used, ever? Hard use videos of Bark river? I am not talking about a little review video of someone fondling a knife. I am talking about actual hard use chopping and batoning. When was the last time you saw a video of a san mai trailmaster being used hard. Or how about a falkniven thor or any large nl series? So lets set a $300 or more value. Show me vids. Can we find vids.

Cobalt, question...

If I could find a video of someone using a BattleMistress to baton thru a Bark River, would that count as a Bark River hard use video? ;)

Think it has to do with the Warranty that Busse offers vs most other blades out there. Some off short warranties or lifetime against defect but not against use. So a lot of people don't feel comfortable using them if any damage won't be covered

ROTFLMAO. Yes it counts.

Adian, that may be part of it for sure.

I have this custom JK Handmade that I commissioned, and I have used it quite a bit; every time I visit John he cleans it up with a scotchbrite belt so it still looks great.

It is made from John's 01 tool steel with his K-Treet heat treat which makes the knife well suited for hard use.

It was over $300 by a little when I had it made.

I have an Esee 6 , admittedly its low on the totem pole of knives that I now use, If I had a good camera setup I would start abusing it for a cool video see how it stacks up to my TGLB.

Not a production but very nice.

How about Fehrman? They are qualityblades. There has to be somehard use vids

I have used my itty-bitty Strider PR for some downright stupid things, but I like my TGLB and AXE Hammer more (as far as use goes). Even then, until I get a Mean Street or other small Busse, I'll continue to carry the PR whenever I want something tiny.
As far as Randall Made use goes, I think that even though they're excellent knives, it's either A.) hard to use them because they look too "pretty" or B.) no collector wants to beat something they've waited over 2 years to get.
I don't know much about Mad Dog Knives, other than that Liu Kang had one uploaded for over $2k on ebay a month or two ago. From that, I know one of two things: those knives are routinely super-expensive, or he's doing the same thing he does with all Busse Knives (TGLBs especially)

I had a Wally Hayes one off "machete" I beat with Busse-like abandon. That would probably be worth in the thousands today.

and still no actual videos of other high end production knives. Hell lets add customs into it. I did find one video review. Pretty decent. No abuse just proper use.

I found a GSO 10 and saw more vids of this knife

I also found a Fehrman final judgement short video

I think I've seen Beckers and Esee taking some abuse with flying colors.
There's a great, and equally long video over at the Carothers forum of a Field knife taking a beating that would make Nos proud.

I dont have any vids...but i use my halfface crow scout all the time as a companion to my big busse's.....sick blade!!!

^^^MBB are some SERIOUS hard use knives...if Busse didn't exist, they would certainly be my go to. I have a HUGE dagger from them that I feel like I could poke holes in the side of an aircraft carrier with. Most beautiful edge I have ever seen put on a knife as well, but they currently are not accepting orders at LEAST until the new year. They have an incredible backlog right now.

I have been on his waitlist to get a custom Karambito made for about 4 or 5 months now and have not heard anything. He must really be swamped! But he makes some really awesome and unique combat blades.

The only production fixed blade I have that is even close to Busse in cost is my ZT0180 - it has an MSRP of $275 - and I have used it for a lot of batoning for firewood -

Yes, I have seen plenty of Esee vids. Some Beckers as well, though I am always suspicious of their steel and feel Esee is the way better knife. and yes, carothers is known for hard use so he is disqualified, lol.
But people are more willing to beat on a $100 knife than a $300+ knife, hence the reason for this thread. What I am looking for is how many people actually use their expensive blades, outside of Busse owners. And I am talking videos and pics. There are some online reviews, but how about regular owner user reviews. I found a few above. There must be more. There are literally hundreds of Busse Knife Beat Down videos. I'd like to see a few of the other big brands. I know you will not find any for Mad Dog past or present. But like I said above, how about a CS San Mai TM or Khuk. Those have to be tough and they certainly are expensive.
