Are Entrek knives worth the $$$?

I am sad to report the following from Mr. Ennis's website.

"Ray Ennis, the maker and owner of Entrek USA has been hospitalized due to complications from surgery. At this time it is not known how long it will take before he can return to the shop as his condition is serious but we expect it to be at least a couple of months. for this reason we, his family, have disabled the ability to order from this website. We decided to leave the site up for anyone that wants information or just likes the pretty pictures but Entrek will not be receiving any new orders at this time as they cannot be filled. If you are already waiting on a previous order Please email me at [Email Removed] and I will work with you to get the matter resolved. As for his current condition, things where bad for a couple days but he has made alot of progress and we are cautiously optimistic that he will recover and be back to normal early next year."

Smoke and prayers sent for a speedy recovery for Mr. Ray Ennis.

Love that custom. I hope Mr. Ennis pulls through shortly and is able to enjoy time with his family sooner than expected. Smoke and prayers for Ray and family.
His knives are the main reason I always stand up for 440c when some is bashing the steel as no longer useful in modern knives. The edge they take is fantastic, and don’t chip either.

Thanks Killgar,
I’ve ruoghed up micarta and put "toe guard" on it before. It has fiberglass strands in it and is very grippy, but started coming loose pretty quick. I just ordered 3 Entreks. I know I’m out of date, but I like 440C second only to 154 CM. I can get an edge back much quicker in the field than I can with any of the newer steels I’ve tried.

I picked up an Entrek Forester a few years ago. It looked like my BCNW-01, and with a steel that would be a little more tolerant of corrosion when camping in saltier environments. The deal was sealed when I found it at a very well-known and reputable dealer for about $80 shipped.

I have a folder (strike point MKII) which I got second hand some years ago. I have mixed feelings about it because the finishing on mine is frankly disappointing, but it's a rugged and unapologetic beefy blade, and I've come to love it.
Also the maker is very talented (watch on youtube how he grinds his blades) and I hope he gets better.
