Would a tightened up a levitator lock be immune to this classification? For that style lock you would need to press down on the scales while also opening it via the thumbstud.

holy cow this is stupid. I am so glad I live in Anchorage where all knives are allowed except for switchblades, so no benchmade infidels or ZT autos, but assisted are ok. wow i never want to go to new york lol.

Trust me, New York City has plenty to recommend it. I highly suggest taking a trip there, just don't bring anything more than a swiss army knife.
