Are Hideaway Knives Still Made?

The website for HAK looks kinda dead. Also, emails and phone calls go unanswered. I see other companies sell "Hideaway" knives (the one I just bought doesn't have "FS" or "440C" etched on it, as did the one I bought years ago / otherwise it's identical).

Anyone know the 2017 latest with the Hideaway saga?

I believe what you see for sale is new old stock. There were so many blanks made and sent to so many custom knife makers that there is still a small supply being sold. But Front Sight I believe is a dead business.

Search Talon Knives in google if you absolutely must have a Hide Away style knife. While this knife is not up to the quality of the real Hide Away Knife it is still a decent little product.

I am not sure if this qualifies as a clone or knockoff because I don't believe the Hideaway knife style was patented. In actuality it is sort of a clone and the owner of Hideaway and Talon had been in communication with each other. Talon offers the design at a production level with Hideaway never did and added a little thing for your ring finger making this a 100% unique product (joking)

Every now and then one comes up on the Exchange. I picked one up and have been quite happy with it, enough so that I would have liked a chance to try out a different blade shape or a titanium one. It's a pity that the company disappeared, but it has apparently done that before. With any luck she will be back, maybe with a new "Phoenix" design....

Someone with resources outta see this as an opportunity! To create a new company or work out a deal with the original Hideaway company.

I suppose if one wants one nowadays, one has 2 options:

get a used one on Feebay
or
Grab up one being sold at other companies, before the supply is gone.
