Are Knives with a "Wave" feature illegal in CA

I'm thinking about buying an emerson with the waved feature and I am just wondering if the wave feature is illegal in california any info will be appreciated.
 
I am unaware of any laws prohibiting possession of waved knives in California, indeed Emerson is located there. Of course your mileage may vary.

I too am unaware of any law prohibiting such a device.
Keep in mind though, even what CA does not restrict, your city or municipality might. Your best bet, ask a cop!

As long as there is a bias towards closing (and prevent opening), no matter how slight, it's fine. Assisted openers, 'flickers', Wave openers and the like are under this rule.
 
If I may make a recommendation, do NOT use the wave feature unless you honestly need to access your knife really quickly, or are practicing in the privacy of your home. It scares people! Be discreet and your potential for getting in trouble (justified or not) will decrease.

A lot of cops don't even know the exact details of the laws and particularly the way courts may interpret them. Ask a knowledgeable lawyer (ugh, did I really say that?) when in doubt.
 
I second what Ryan8 says. Many cops have no idea what the actual state law on knives is, and know even less about local ordinances.
