Boards like this have to beat dead horses because we're always getting in new members and enthusiasts and it's natural that we revisit the same old tired topics as they may be new to some. It also gives others of us who have matured a chance to either change their tune or reconfirm their earlier views.retbeltf said:Any lock can fail, regardless of whether it's the much vaunted axis lock or not.
As far as your argument goes, what are you saying? Because all locks fail, all are equal? It's true that while all locks can fail, some are less likely to fail. Even though a CRKT liner lock can fail with the LAWKS, does that mean that the LAWKS is undesirable? If any brake can fail, does that mean anti-lock brakes are a waste of money?
If someone opens a liner lock carefully and doesn't flip it open with force, it should last a reasonable amount of time. But if someone can get a better lock for the same price, why should they buy a liner lock? In a world of slipjoints, the liner lock is king; however, in a world of locking knives, liner locks are just kind of the last face on the totem pole.
