Are NMSFNOs Still Being Made?

Thanks, Lil' Foo. I never knew that Skunk did those orders. I just thought that the leftovers got sent to him. I ordered the sage with black micarta, and those were in stock at the company store last time I looked. But I'm taking Amy at her word. And yes, my overseas friend and I indeed did order the same color on the same day.

Bro, I understand your desire for information  Let me tell you that the sage w/black will amaze you  It's worth the wait, trust me. Plus, Amy would never lead you on

If they weren't still busy finishing up nmsfno orders we'd all have our cupidganza2 goodies by now!!

I am really looking forward to this one. Amy said it shipped on Tuesday, so it should be here soon.

Lucky I saw this thread! Didn't even know about the company store until now. So I just ordered the last NMSFNO in Tanker Gray with Black Micarta handle. :D

Be sure to post some pics when she arrives:)

While I was outside pumping up a flat tire on my jeep, the postal lady came driving up with something to brighten my day. It's my new NMSFNO in sage w/blk micarta!

This knife has some heft to it, about 20 oz on my scale. That makes it a bit heavier than these comparably sized choppers.
NMSFNO020.jpg

That extra weight does not seem bad at all with the nice balance of the large heavy handle. The knife balances at the rear of the choil. I couldn't help doing a little chopping and splitting with the Busse, just to get the feel of it.

Even with that weight, the knife is fast enough in the hand to slash through palmettos with ease. I really like this Busse. It was worth waitng for. And I think the sage looks good, too. Thanks, Amy!:D

I'm glad to see you got yours Horn Dog! I also like seeing that you're already putting it to use. Mine will probably be a safe queen since I live in suburbia and really don't have anything that I can chop (legally :D). They are very nicely made knives though.

HAHA, Oh believe me, with my two Belgian Malinois my neighbors are already scared enough...I doubt they'd even notice I was holding a knife. :D:D

So, how does it chop in comparison to some of the more popular large Busses?

I didn't do a comparison with those, just a little chopping and batoning. It's a safe guess that the FBM and FFBM will out chop the NMSFNO. But I am pretty sure the NMSFNO will out chop my Sarsquatch. It might even out chop the Ratweiler which was my best midsized chopper in a comparison I did on Scrap Yard forum.

HD, the NMSFNO does pretty well for having a V edge grind as opposed to Convex:thumbup: Once it finally wears itself down I'm going to convex mine;) Then there's that rounded spine to be admired for it's beauty, and comfort in a forward grip.

Just received my NMSFNOs from the company store today and they are an awesome balance of blade length and ergonomics for a larger utility knife. The CG has excellent fit and finish.

+1 fit, finish, and feel are off the chart.
