are sandwich bags waterproof?

My icemaker on my kitchen frige is broke and I have been to lazy to rip it apart again, so I use 1 gallon zip Lock bags to make ice a gallon at a time. I have only had 2 out of a hundred or so leak and when they do its at the end of the zip seal. Good bags like the ZIPLOK brand are better than the others, especially the store brand bags.
That said, I just picked up a 3 pak of Coleman Waterproof pouches at Sports Authority here in Exton pa on cleacence for $3. Like the other guy said, get a good water proof bag to protect an expensive phone. Then again, do you really NEED the phone/pager in the water with you?

I know it's ancient technology, but let me introduce you to the ice tray. 3 for a buck at the dollar store. :p

Admit it. You just like using an ice pick, don't you? :D
