Are Striders awkward in the hand?

I have never really been interested in Striders but for some reason lately I started thinking about trying one out. The only thing I have ever had a problem with is the strange handle shape, it looks like it would be really uncomfortable. Am I wrong about that, how are the ergos on Striders?

I find the SNG fits very well in my hand. It feels much better to me than say, the Sebenza. Both the regular grip and choking up with the choil feel just fine.

SMF feels more comfy than a sebbie or 0561 for me. More like the TUFF.
It fits my personality.
I like the Saber feeling of the 21, but the strider feels like a mix of a knife and brass knuckles with a hint of chisel. :D

For Striders it's usually a love it or hate it handle. I had an SMF before and it fit great, I just didn't like the weight, it was too light for my taste, a lot lighter than you'd expect for a knife that big.

That comes down to personal preference, what's comfortable for one person is terrible for the next. If the makers lack of ethics doesn't bother you then I'd recommend handling one before buying. If you don't have a good knife shop nearby just wait for a gun show.

The SnG CC and Lego both feel like they were made for my hand. I was never a Strider fan boy but decided to try one out figured I could always sell it and get most of my money back if I hated it. Anyway, after my light user CC showed up, I was sold immediately. Within a couple of weeks I bought a new Lego and it too fits like it was made for me.

Simply put, the ergos have to be tried to be understood. You might not like it, but I'm going to guess you will. The cool thing is, if you don't, you can always recover most, if not all of your money back. These things sell quickly.

SnG Cc feels a tab bit small. Compared to the SMF Lego I had. The PT I have feels great, like a much larger knife.

Had an smf lego, hated the handle. Felt awkward with such a thin and light handle with a thick and heavier blade

I think they are the strangest looking knife that feels fantastic. For something that looks so utterly uncomfortable, they hit it.

I think they really are very ergonomic. I always wondered how they would feel and when I got one in hand I was very impressed. A Sebenza feels great too, but it is that more generic shape. The Strider feels more tactical, the sebenza feels more elegant. (But this is not a debate between the two).

I to am just looking into the Strider, Sebenza, and Hinderer lineups tryin to pick one to try out. I know Ill love a Hinderer I believe due to all the Hinderer ZTs I own, believe it gives me an idea. But as for Strider and Sebenza which seem like to different knives all together Im not sure which Id like the feel of.

Honestly that is the real beauty of the strider handle. It looks like it would not be comfortable but its actually the opposite. Not only is it comfortable but the handle shape really helps the knife stay in the hand because your grip would have to loosen significantly for it to slip out. I would say its a lot more comfortable than some of the more popular "ergonomic" choices.

Thanks for all the constructive feedback guys. If anyone knows of a knife shop in south florida that carries Striders (and any other high end knives) I would love to know of it. I think I will try to find a way to hold one of these before jumping the gun but the feedback is definitely encouraging.

I had a SnG lego and an SMF DGG and loved the feel of both of them. Very comfortable and the blade was easily flickable without shifting the hand. I have medium sized hands. I have heard others complain that the CC grip SnG is too slender feeling and the lego SMF is too chunky. I think it will mostly depend on personal preference, but I like the choil and feel they are very ergonomic. I dont know if we are allowed to say particular dealers, but Strider lists a Miami dealer under their "Dealers and Friends" on their site.
