Are the Kershaw/Emerson D2 knives any good?

Mostly a Spyderco and Cold Steel man these days, but the Kershaw D2 knives got me curious. For what you pay, are they any good as workhorse knives?

I had a CQC-7k in 8cr for a long time, and I loved it. Can only imagine these will be better.
