are the woods trying to kill us?

blame Canada

Yeah, blame those Canadians... wait, I'm one of those Canucks!!!

Read that it came from South America, Africa and Southern California.
There you go, an international issue!!!

Seriously though, I wonder if having a forest fire once in awhile would help
things. Would the fire be enough to kill off the fungus?

This is reminiscent of the media reports when Hanta virus first made its presence known in the Four Corners. Mowing down seemingly otherwise healthy people.

Doc
From 1999 to 2008 inclusive we have had 4 cases of hantavirus in BC, and the only known carrier in the 4 western provinces is the deer mouse
If you have rodent crap in your workplace WorkSafeBC acts as if hantavirus is in every rodent dropping
what they make you do is nuts

Airborne in trees....You would have to burn the whole Pacific NW and wherever else.... :(

i'll sit don with you over a beer sometime and tell you all about the forestry mismanagement........:p

It's been going on since at least the 1980's by a succession of provincial governments. The current government is no worse or better then the last few have been
I grew up in a town that used to have a number of mills now shut down.
Like most BC'ers I've got numerous family members that lost their livelyhood in the forest industry
