Are there any CRKT knives you really like ?

I like the Marzitelli Prowler...BEEFY knife with LAWKS. I trust it more than my M16 zytel. Great workhorse knife and takes a good edge. Nice ergos, too.

Thanks for all of the replies and comments on CRKT knives, I generally use Benchmades for carry as well as an XX pre 1965 Case 6333.

CRKT makes a lot of neat knives. IMO the KFF is one of the best fighting folders out there, its opening action is surprisingly smooth.

I also really like the Ryan Plan B and the attention to detail they put into their Lightfoot M-1 model is remarkable and it has a very secure lock.

Most of the steels they use could be a bit better, but apart from that I've never been disappointed by any of the several CRKTs I own.

I've been buying CRKT knives since the Apache days and have owned many diff. models. My favorites are: small Apache or S2, Mirage Gray ghosts any size, KFF any size, Hawk D.O.G. and the M1. There are other models that are a great design but fall short for one reason or another.
The Ryan 7 is a great example. This knife feels great, a very nice design. But the steel is AUS6M, I think I might overlook its other problems if it were AUS8. The clip is not good, mine striped out, had to redrill and tap. Plus it has no clip options. The zig zag zytel scales look fine, but when exposed to moisture the combination of there design and the bead blasting of the frame holds moisture in creating the perfect environment for rust. I stopped this by giving the frame a high gloss finish.
The Crawford Fixed Falcon again great design but lacking in the steel area. Again this could be overlooked But the sheath is not what it should be. It's not the one they show in the cataloge and it s***s.
That being said my very favorites are the D.O.G. and the M1. The D.O.G.'s lock I would trust with my life and you gotta love that M1 build. plus the flipper is cool. Both are rock solid knives. JM2C ;)

The M16 series is nice! I do wish they would switch to AUS-8 on the Zytel one, their AUS-6 doesn't hold an edge as long as I would like. Gets nice and sharp, though, without too much trouble. :)

The other Carson patterns look good, too. I think it's good that they can bring a custom maker designed knife to people at affordable prices.

They use cheap steel, but it's more than adequate. Also, it helps keeps prices low. Wish the M16 1* series were in plain edge, though

Yes, please make more plain edge models! I had an M16-14LE and then sold it for that reason. The same for the Desert Cruiser. Make a plain edge version, otherwise I'll have to put up with AUS6 on the regular model. AUS8 is a decent steel.

CRKT is my favorite affordable knife company.

Favorites:
M16-03 -Besides the flipper, super sharp blade, the toughest hard anodizing I've ever seen.
Large KFF -Pro Feels so good in the hand.
S2 -I had a small one. The large size would be very nice. ATS-34!

Haven't read a review on this one, nor do I know much about it, but I do like the looks of the Hissatsu. Perhaps I've just been reading about Japanese swords and knives after seeing Tom Cruise's "The Last Samurai" recently. So the Hissatsu has been on my mind lately.

I also like the blade shapes of some of the Lightfoot & Carson designed CRKT's.

But in the end, there aren't any productions I'd like to buy any time soon. I'd much rather put the money towards a custom. Obenauf, CArson or Mayo all come to mind!
