Are there any high end expedition outfitter still around?

The Orvis here in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta is pretty swanky. That's probably the closest thing to the old-school Abercrombie & Fitch that I've seen. But they only sell Beretta shotguns (IIRC) and their knife selection is atrocious. Chuck's Guns here in Buckhead is also pretty darned nice. Upscale guns and knives.

The modern day equivalent to those old-school outfitters would be the internets.

I used to love going to Griffin and Howe in New Jersey. Haven't lived near there for 6 years now and I'm not sure what they offer any more.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything other than Orvis and Dick's that carries the majority of the stuff you would need. I don't know if either can handle the booking of the trips, licenses, etc., although I would lean toward no. Other than firearms, REI supposedly does a decent job with their trips, although they tend to run pretty pricey.

Give me a few years and triple the square footage. :D
