are there flat ground s30v's readily available?

In short I think the answer is no.

The flat grounds where only produced for a limited time last year, and that was before s30v.
 
Yes, and doubtful. AFAIK, Chris was unhappy with with how the flat grounds turned out / or maybe they took a much larger effort to get right.

Every once in a wehile one turn up forsale.
 
There were no Flatground S30V blades released into the open market by CRK. The flatground models made in limited production last year were all made from BG-42 blades. Anne wrote me to tell me the reason why. Apparently Chris was not satisfied with the results of trying to flatgrind S30V.
