anyone ever seen one, i just got a refund off a benchmade deal i made on ebay and am eyeballing a possible military. i dont want to go through the fiasco of getting a refund for a counterfeit piece again.

I suppose it is possible that there are some out there somewhere, but I have never seen one or read about anyone else encountering one.

Kind of tough to fake a spyderco, I think . The Millie is a knife that will stand out, just look for the spyderco "stamp of approval" on the blade (the spider that looks like a tick).

Make sure there is a pic showing the base of the blade showing the blade steel. Mine says "spyderco" and under it there is "CPM S30V," that is the blade steel. On the reverse side of the blade it will say "Golden, Colorado" and under that it should say "U.S.A. Earth."

If it doesn't have all of this then I guess it would have to be fake ;). Keep in mind there are several versions of the military out there. Some have green handles with D2 steel, there are BG-42s out there, and so on and so forth. Not quite sure how familiar you are with spyderco, so I hope this helps, J.

I'm along the lines that itwould be tough to counterfeit a Millie...the tech, fit, finish and tolerances on that knife are excellent- but I guess there are those out there who make a living of criminal activity.
