Are there Spyderco Delica counterfeits being sold?

Recently I have come upon a site offering Spyderco Delica 4 ffgs at a significantly lower price than usual. Could this be a counterfeit? I know other popular brands are being copied and sold that way, but until now, no Delicas. What?

If it's too good to be true, it usually is.

I'm not sure why anyone would fake a delica though. May I ask the site? Don't post the link, just site name.

i Agree with K.O.D. it usually is too good to be true. im allways quite cautious about those, i have tempted my luck on zt0450 on amazon (sold and shipped by amazon) and got a really good deal. but i wouldnt try with a random seller

Email sent. The original vendor has withdrawn his offer, but there is another on the site. I don’t know why anyone would counterfeit a Delica in particular, but there are fake Ontario RAT 1s circulating, possibly others. Some have been described as not bad copies. My current guess is that somebody made a mistake and posted a lowball price without realizing it.

Spyderco products can't be sold for less than 40% off its Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). So if it's less than that , don't be surprised when you've gone from buyer to victim. ;) :)

Thanks for the information. But I’m thinking the vendor may have not been aware of that, was notified by Spyderco or somebody and upped the price accordingly. At least, it looks that way.

When you find a deal on a new Rolex watch or Spyderco knife that's too good to be real , it isn't real !

It has been said the FRN knives haven't been counterfeited.

Why? The cost of the molds for FRN exceeds what the folks who make these are willing to invest in their business.

They can copy the G10 models with much less effort and investment.

a quick search on the alibaba sites shows zero clones for delica

That's really interesting, I didn't know that, and here lots of people deride the "cheap feel" of FRN.

In general it seems that is someone can make a buck with a counterfeit, they will, sadly.

Spyderco is the most counterfeited knife company so yes, it is. If the knife seems too good to be true, its a fake

Afaik, This isn't true.
The vendor can sell it for whatever they want, but they can't advertise a price under their MAP stated price.
Minimum Advertised Price

You will see some vendors that will say things like "add to cart to see final price" or similar, while listing it at MAP pricing.

I don't know if this is only applicable when a company is closing it's doors, dropping a manufacturer, or other particular instances. But I have seen vendors sell under MAP pricing, just not advertising below it.
