Are These Good Knifemaking Tongs?

So I am pretty new to knifemaking, and I bought these tongs at an antique shop. I wanted to know if they will work well, and if not, what kind of tongs I should buy.

Not really useful for smithing or blade work.

Thats not tongs, but some form of nipper. It could be modified to use as tongs.
A guy forging steel is supposed to be a Smith afterall...
Anyway for knife & trinket size work, I really like Diamond Tool DT15 tongs.
Lightweight & not expensive.
Out of the box, optimised for 1/4"-5/16" thick stock, but easily adjusted to suit.
