Are these grinders too big?

I think part of it is the thinnes of the belt I am not an expert, but it seems that 2" and 4" are o.k sizes leaning more to the 2". problem with 1" is that belts go by way to fast, and it soesnt remove metal as efficiently. bigger than 4" and you cant grind places you need to, not as versitile

Several knifemakers have used the 6x9" for flat grinding. A friend in Texas makes a kit for them that adds considerably to their use as knifemaking instruments.

I have a 4x36 that I have use for yrs. It is about worn out now , so last Mon. I bought a new 6x9 craftsman , I needed it on the job and it paid for itself in 2 days , now I'm through with it , so it will go in the shop to replace the old 4x36, I like them for flat grinding
