are these horse and buggy leaf springs ?

i came across these out in the woods. the springs are about 1 1/2" wide. there is another set still attached to part of the frame about four feet away which is buried. they look to small to be an automobile, can someone tell if they were from a buggy or wagon ? if they do look to be from a horse and buggy, do you think any parts of the frame might be wrought iron ? thank you.

Those are cart or wagon springs. Often they're either blister steel (carburized wrought iron) or shear steel (blister steel refined by hot working). It can be fun to work with, and shows some cool grain when etched:


There may well be some wrought down there-especially if there's an axle.
 
It would be worth taking two friends, a truck, a couple shovels, and a mattock back with you. A metal detector would also be nice.
