Are these serrations any good?

I am considering a Tuff Lite with a serrated blade but the serrations don’t look very effective in pictures.

Do any of you folks own a serrated Tuff Lite or any Cold Steel with this type of serrations? If so, do they cut well?

they aren't great for daily cutting work. those little points tend to break off and bend under heavy use. sharpening them is hard and you'll need the right tool to do it. spydercos serrations are just better and easier to keep sharp

if ya were cutting soft stuff think meat....and things like that they are quite decent. think they designed those serrations for weapon type use more than daily use. I just dont find them great for daily cutting tasks
That’s a real bummer. I have two plain edge Tuff Lites and I really like them. Thought maybe a serrated edge Tuff Lite might kick some serious butt but I’m glad I asked before buying one. I do want it for common daily tasks and I generally don’t use folding knives for food.

When sharp , they cut just fine . However , sharpening is a real PITA .

The Tuff Lite is a great little project knife , box cutter , etc , but I'd go with a PE version .

For serrations , Spyderco is easier to sharpen . But by far the best are from David Mary David Mary .

I had a couple of CS knives with serrated blades 30+ years ago and they were terrible for daily tasks. I love their PE blades and carry them frequently. I doubt the serrations have improved. This is just my humble opinion though.
