Are We There Yet? Vol.2 - Tomcrx won!!

Hi waynorth -

That is a real beauty!

I would have a soft leather slip-sheath made, and carry it occasionally - not to use, but to take out and look at and play with.

I have my VIC Waiter to cut with if need be when I have the whittler.

It would be a real shame to needlessly sully up the blades on that looker.

Then, when my forum moose arrives - I'd take pictures of them together and post here.

Thanks for the chance!

best regards -

Hey Charlie - She's a beauty :D

I'm all in for a summer - or even early fall - moose! That'd be awesome.

I would admire its wedged backsprings, for sure :D That'd be a first for me (the wedged backsprings I mean). I would compare it with modern slip joints I have, to increase my oh-so-little knowledge. Would I sharpen it and use it to carve spoons and laddles? Maybe...maybe not. In all honesty, I would probably use it as a benchmark for Case '70s level of quality.

A big thanks from the other side of the country :D

Wow, what a beautiful knife.

I don't know how to carve and I'm not sure my wife would let me whittle in the house and I know they woudn't approve of that at work so it would probably become my Sunday-go-to-meeting knife. I'd be very careful with it at first and after opening a few letters or something I might get brave and use it to open a box or two. I'd hate to get adhesive on those fine blades though. It would find a special place in my knife display when it wasn't in my pocket.

Thank you, waynorth, for the chance.

Thanks for the offer Charlie.

I would use it most days to....

cut inner tube strips and peel bark from maple branches to make slingshots with my sons..

open their toy packages and cut the tops off their go-ghurts..

show them how to carve their initials in their swing set..

make them willow whistles and carved roosters to take to school and impress their friends..

Mostly use it with my sons, so one day they may understand what our relationship meant to me. It would remind them, be a touchstone, of who I was and evoke memories of what we did together long after I am gone.

That is what I would do with it.

Great giveaway, Charlie.

I would hold on to it long enough to find a good person in need of a good knife. :)
I have one very similar already and it would be pure greed to hold another in a drawer, lol.

I have a love for the 70's Case knives. I would definitely oil this up well on the blades to keep them safe from corrosion, and I would definitely carry it. I would use it mainly for light duty carpentry. It would be keeping my lumber pencil sharp, it would lop off that irritating tab of wood that the table saw tends to leave behind, and also slice up an apple to eat while on break. Thank you for the chance.

That's a beauty Charlie. She'd get oiled once a week, as Tony Bose suggests. I'm fond of walking the woods and stopping along the way to sit and listen, as I worry some stick with my blade. I bet she'd like that too.

It is a beauty. It would get a place in the starting lineup for sure. The handle color is one I don't see much. I can see it becoming a favorite.

Great GA!
I would take her out into the woods and use her to whittle things around the camp; a spoon or pot suspender.

This is a thread of dreams and fantasies! And worthy intentions!!
I wish I had a knife to give to everyone here!
Great stuff! Thanks for the fun and heart-warming entries everyone!
Get your entry in by August 1st!! That's when I'll draw a number, and decide what's next!!

Hi Charlie,
I hope it ok that I enter the draw?
THAT !! is a very nice knife, and I would very much appreciate the chance.
Love that jigged bone-wow

Wow, that's a beaut! My grandfather had one, a three-dot with bone a little darker than this one. It resides in a tin on my mom's dresser now, and hasn't seen pocket time for at least eleven years.

This one would definitely go in my pocket! I'd alternate it with my 33OT in my left hip pocket during the week, and it would take the replace my 8OT in my right on Sundays.

Beautiful knife there!

I'm in.....and she would be an edc for me..... I enjoy teaching the tacticool kids that my slippies out cut their knife of the week hands down.... and they do it with style!

Wow I am floored. I can honestly say I have never won a raffle or giveaway before in my entire life, ever.

Thank you so much Charlie. That knife is immaculate and such a generous giveaway. It truly does make the wait a lot easier. I am truly at a loss for words.

Thanks. I have to go recover for a few minutes and let my wife and sons know.
