I don't have ALL DAY to get my knife out of my pocket and open!:(

Since the Maxx opens by the flippers, tip-down is no problem. Grab the flippers, pull the knife out of your pocket, rotate them, and don't flinch as it "clangs" locked!

See me for lessons. Bring a Commander and watch me slice your @$$ ... ummm, no ... but I can slice anything worth eating with it !!! :D

Either that or have Leatherman (Dwayne) make you a form fitted leather sheath for your Maxx then you don't have to worry about drawing it out of your pocket. I'll throw a picture of my Bullnose Maxx and the sheath Dwayne made me for it when I get off of work.

OH, YEAAAHHH! Well, let me bring my BM Axis AFCK and we'll SEEEE who's faster!;)
Can you imagine a "Quick and the Dead" of folder draws! That would be FUN if we didn't actually have to stick each other!

OK. OK. It might be worth a TRY. But if it operates anything like the CRKT M-16, I won't like it. I think that knife is SLOW.

I'll look around for a deal and try one.

When are you guys going to stop screwing around and get yourselves some Cuda Maxxes??? By far the king of the big folders, with a great 5.5 in. D2 blade, titanium framelock construction and amazing QC for its price point. (Which is under $120.00 on the web these days, by the way.):D :D
..."King of the BIG folders"?...My Cold Steel Vaquero Grande sports a full 6 inch-long fully-serrated AUS-8A "wavy" blade, and alittle more than a 13 inches-long total opened length. It is carried "tip-up".

Yeah, but Dan, it's a COLD STEEL. :p

You guys should quit playing around and get a Strider AR. Great knife that is actually useful and it makes non knife people VERY nervous.... :D

Seriously, I've been carrying a BM Mini Griptilian lately just because I needed a change and because I love the axis lock. I've been alternating with a large tanto folder of my own design. And I have a cool little custom coming from Crockett with a 2" blade. So I'm all over the place.

If you want big you need to get a TOPS Magnum. Its perfect for self defense, if they're not close enough for you to use the blade you can just throw it at them. Its heavy enough that you'll do just as much damage if you hit them.

you just need to bite the bullet and start your own knife company.

Here i already have a name for it MACRO-tech

My wife says size matters. She's a shrink. Can't argue.
I say a blade in the 3 1/2 to 4 inch range works well in a edc folder.
For combat, I like a maximum of six. Why? It's always a good idea to keep your CQB weapons...well...close. The operators out there understand.

Wait a minute. I turned down a chance to trade for a Vaquero Grande today because the guy said it had a sheath and no clip.

I was enough of a tip-up advocate that I paid a gunsmith to reverse the clip on my Kershaw Boa. Despite that, the Maxx made a believer out of me.

If I remember correctly the original M-16 had only a lower guard to act as a flipper. My quick-opening technique for the Maxx requires an upper guard, but it is really fast. :D

The original Cold Steel Vaquero Grande models did NOT have a clip, and they DID come with a sheath. I guess that originally Cold Steel didn't think that anyone had pockets deep-enough to carry that monster in, but I guess they later realized that some of us wanted a clip on the knife, anyway, so we could carry it clipped IWB.
