I don't own a paramilitary 2 yet but should be ordering within the next week, black/digicam, and I was thinking whether to put this carbon fiber clip I have on it. I bought it probably a month ago for cheap, like $7.50 plus shipping, and it's real carbon fiber. Although I'm not sure whether or not to keep it or just resell it. Are you guys fans of them? Here's the one I have:

Woah. That's amazing. I might want one for my GB Folder provided that it's compatible. Carbon fiber does have a reputation for shattering though.

If you got that from the non-sponsored vendor I'm thinking I don't believe it'll fit spyderco's, that's a BM hole pattern- slightly to wide.

As for your question, no I'm not a fan, I like the look but I only use deep carry clips and I have yet to see a CF deep carry clip.

I like them look wise (I have two) but I had to use a heat gun to slightly bend mine to get better retention. Overall, I like them.

I like the look of them. I haven't tried them as I am like CK and use the deep carry clip on my Benchies.

Ebay special, it was just listed when I saw it and I know they range from $15-30 so I jumped on it, but it is supposed to fit and was listed to fit a para 2

Well then you should be good, it was just guessin it came from that knife maker's site in the USA and those don't fit.

I know mine only fit Benchmade/Emerson, I did however order one with no holes so you can drill to fit a Spydie or Kershaw or I assume anything for that matter if the base of the clip covers the hole pattern of the knife.

Paul.

I'm just hoping this one fits, where did you order yours from?

I'm a big fan of CF, just not for clips or anything that needs to maintain some tension. The resin isn't made to be flexible.

I bought several of these some time back, my experience was:

-most of the ones on ebay are sold by resellers, you can find them much cheaper at knife supply places on the internet.
-obviously these will only fit certain knives, I got mine for my Ontario rats, they looked perfect but I had to drill out 2 holes to make them fit.
-I lightly sanded the edges because they were a little sharp.

I liked these at first but they ended up being too loose, although I never heated them to make them tighter. I ended up putting the original clips back on.

The one on my lightfoot is damn near impossible to get on my pocket. I'm hoping it will loosen up some...

When a metal pocket clip is too loose or too tight, you take it off the knife, insert the holey end in a vise, bend the sucker until the elastic limit is exceded, and reinstall it.
I'm not sure how heating Carbon fiber gives you the necessary control to finely tune the clip tension. Do you heat one side to tighten and the other side to loosen? Do you make the whole thing gooey and hold the adjustment in position until the cooling sets everything up?
I'm all for weight savings, but the pocket clip is one of the lightest parts of a knife.

I just realized that is actually a pretty darn good way to make a few extra bucks, buying those things in bulk and selling them on ebay, figure you can get them for about 8 bucks after shipping, sell for 15+ each? not bad

Oh no I've created another ebay reseller...:(

I had to adjust all four that I have. I snug the hole end in my vice and just use my heat gun pointed at the base while I apply slight force with my finger. You'll feel when the carbon fiber softens. Just push slightly forward. Hold until it sets...15 to 20 seconds approx.
