Are you a one-two brand collector?

I know there are some collectors who concentrate on one or two brands of knives. For example, they focus mainly on Buck or Spyderco or both.

For the rest of us, any brand will do so long as the money lasts.

Personally, I started with Buck which I still love.

However with Bladeforums, temptations can be so distracting and more often than not, I succumb to buying the other brands as well. Otherwise, there won't be much fun in collecting.

Too many good knives from other brands and other knifemakers.

But still, there is that hardcore minority who focus only on one or two brands.

Are you one of those?

I'll accumulate anything, but my primary EDC's are,
BM
Spyderco
CRK&T
as far as slipjoints,
Case
Queen
Camillus
Remington
and I love those cheap little Imperial Trick Knives.:D

I carry
Spyderco
CRKT(so far only one, will be more)
CS(have one, thats the last I'm buying)
MT LCC DA, don't feel like spending 400-700/knife... may not buy anymore

One or two brands ??? Only if I still had just one or two knives ... :D In alphabetical order, to avoid offending any knife company on which I sorely depend:

Benchmade
Chris Reeve
Emerson
Kershaw
Microtech
Spyderco

And a few other companies, one or two knives each. And a few customs. But ... ! they all share a common characteristic: sharp blades.

Golok, you ask the best questions. I sat here thinking my way through my collection ... now I'm going to have to take out the boxes again and play with a few of those knives.

Edit, edit, edit! Alert, alert! How could I have left out Camillus!?

I have knives from Benchmade, Spyderco, Emerson, Microtech, CRKT, and Camillus. I'm always open to buying knives from other companies. Somehow, I keep going back to Benchmade. But I by no means just focus on Benchmade.

Spyderco's dominate my collection now, but have knives from all the major companies and a few customs.
I do like the many of the new knives that Camillus has added to the CUDA line and have added several to my collection.
I do plan to prune my collection down in the near future and concentrate on adding new Spyderco models.

From the knives Sal showed me at the Blade Show, you are going to have quite a few great Spydercos to consider. He's go a few big knives coming out, as big as the Chinook, but sleeker, more ergonomic grips. Also, new ideas on the Rescue series. Also ... the Ronin! Unfortunately, the folding SPOT ... will not.

Emerson, J W Smith, Trace Rinaldi and R J Martin work for me.

Regards,

Ed

What I have is CRKT and Spyderco, but what I want is much more than that ;)

Benchmade
Spyderco
CRKT
Kershaw
Gerber
Camillus

More Benchmades than anything else.

Just ordered Greco Falcon

Buck and Victorinox. I was probably dropped once or twice as a child.
:) guy

I "collect" ANYTHING that's sharp...(Just ask my wife!.:D.:D.).

But lately, I've been getting back into Spyderco products.:).

I like primarily military/battle blades. I prefer Striders and Busses, but also like Randalls. I'd like to get a Chris Reeve one-piece down the road.

when i started collecting, my intention was to get every side of the knife spectrum, but recently i have found myself hovering around the Emersons a lot...i have 2 commanders and a mini commander, as well as a CQC7 on the way...i hope to eventually get a custom framelock commander into my possession, but i don't know how i will be able to justify spending that much right now...i think its the wave feature, the beautiful blade shapes, and the titanium liners under the easily grippable G10 that have me hooked on Mr. Emersons products.

Most of my collection is made up of Busse's, but I'm starting to collect others, as I go:D

The all-knowing database says, "nope, no specialization here," although it does show my initial fascination with CRKT knives. :)

I like Emersons and BM a lot. I also have 2 Daltons that I really like. I also like MT's but don't have any at the moment.

I do not collect by brand or manufacturer. I collect by type of knife. My main collection is auto's. Many makers and different styles from many countries. I have other knives that I like and use, but the collection in the cases under glass are auto's and a few bali's.
