I stole the phrase in the title from Reeek's post in the CS steel choice thread, but it sums up something I've been thinking about for a couple of days.
While cleaning and touching up my most used EDC knives, I realized that my once very specific taste in knives has become quite ecclectic. One day I might pick up a small carbon blade slipjoint, and the next I'll clip a high end one hand opening folder to my pocket.
Besides the variety in designs and materials, I seem to be all over the place when it comes to prices as well. I enjoy anything that's useful and well made. I thought that when I started geting into customs and higher end production folders, more budget oriented products would lose their appeal, but that wasn't the case.
I'd like to hear (or rather, read) about your experiences. Is your EDC rotation mostly homogenous or do you enjoy using a wide variety of knife styles? Have expensive knives spoilt you?
