Are you looking for the right deal or the right knife?

A good price gets me into knives that are less practical than I would usually buy.

The thing with buying something discount is it lowers your risk. Instead of taking a haircut when you get bored with it you're not out much/anything.

Agree to disagree? I'd rather "risk" paying more for one good product than less for several questionable alternatives. Again, to each their own so just doing the math...

Guilty as charged as well...! I've been a member for only 4 months and if my 30+ feedback score doesn't show I'm a nut in the short period then I should tell you I've bought and sold over 50 knives on the exchange alone. I will admit one thing, I'm all about a good deal and have NEVER purchased a knife new from a retailer.

Wow. Never have purchased or sold a knife on the exchange. I seldom even look at what is for sale.

A good price often "forces" me to buy multiples of my faves... Like pm2's, technos, Gayle Bradley's, sages and calys. It appears as though I like Spydies. YEP...guilty.

In the beginning of my collection i was looking for a good deal, but now i allready have a fair number of knives, i am more picky and looking for the right knife (but there still are a lot of right knives lol)

I buy knives I like. Being retired and essentially getting poorer every day, I have a limit as to how much I will pay for any knife but I don't go looking for the best deals. I also never sell any of my knives although I've given away a few to friends and relatives. To me a good deal is when I get the knife I want at a price I'm willing to pay at the time.

Supply and demand also sets market prices, and some item like say a Spyderco Paramilitary II just can not be found everyday, at ever dealer, so in that case demand sets price.

.22 Ammo is another priced item now, because of supply, and demand. Unless you hit Wal-Mart at the right time, on the right day.
