I'm a "like to carry" who has to carry. Allow me to explain.
I'm the sales manager for a legal software company, definitely a white-collar position, so I do not "need" a knife to do my job.
I have been carrying a pocket knife since I was a cub scout; it just seems to make sense. Yesterday my new Standard Brand (Case) barlow arrived at work, and since I was already carrying my red-bone GEC #23 I decided to just leave the barlow in my (locked) desk drawer for the next day (today).
This means I left home this moring without a knife in my pocket, something I never do unless I am flying somewhere. I swear I must have patted my pocket 20 times before I got in to the office, and every time I had the feeling that something was amiss when my hand encountered that empty pocket.
Slipping the barlow into my pocket was like coming home; it completed me, so yes, I am a "have to carry," regardless of what I do for a living.
