Are you the only knifenut you know??

Tenbeers,

My son is only 4 and already he shows a passion for knives. He can even handle them properly so as to not cut himself.

I think it is important to teach our children at a very young age, that knives are not toys and should not be played with. Yet at the same time we should show them how to safely handle our knives. Kids will be kids and could one day possibly get ahold of a knife when they should not. At least if they know how to handle it it will reduce the chances of them hurting themselves(or someone else.) Just my oppinion

Other than you guys, I'm the only knifenut I know. In fact, some people worry about my knifenuttieness. They think it borders on mental insantiy.

Thankfully, two of my closest friends are nuts -- nuttier than me, probably! But since we no longer live in the same town, the Forums are a welcome breath of fresh air.

Like others..the steel has come through the veins...great grandpa, grandpa, then me. But i seem to be the one with the biggest ones so far.

I had another great day yesterday when forumites Davidb415, Dexter, and CPRaymond spent the day together attending not one, but two shows together. We also had a great lunch while comparing our newest toys (and scaring the other restaraunt patrons

). I also met forumite Phillip Jones (who along with brother Barry make up Jones Knives) and purchased this nice drop point neck knife.

I'm very grateful that the forums have given me the chance to meet so many great people.

Other than this forum, I have only my son to share this interest in knives with. Perhaps my level of interest exceeds his, but he has always been with me on this. While our tastes differ, we at least have mutual appreciation of each other's knife preferences. I generally don't bother bringing up this interest around extended family, friends and co-workers. The predictable responses are tiresome, but I feel a little less alone with you all out there.

I am slowly converting the people I work with to knifenuts. My boss is a knifenut like me, but a few others are still lagging in the conversion process.

Most of my friends and co-workers carry some sort of knife, but I am the only "knife nut" that I know.

The only other knifenut in my part of Sweden that I know about besides me is Peter Hjortberger in the city of Boden, who also is the man behind Fallkniven.
