Aren't custom knives addicting?

I only have two custom knives right now but plan on getting more. Maybe a Emerson CQC-5. Hopefully, the wait isn't too long. I have sold all my procution knives except for a Emerson Raven and many Microtechs. I will not buy anymore production knives besides Microtech.
I don't know why I haven't been interested in custom knives until recently. I guess there must be something magical about them.

welcome, now you are a custom knives nut

emerson has at least a wait of 3 or 4 years IIRC, be prepared to wait longer.

No!! They are absolutely not addictive! That's all just establishment propaganda. I don't need another custom knife, I just like to have one first thing in the morning...and one after breakfast...and when I'm driving to work... Honestly I can stop anytime I want. Seriously.

Unless you want something handmade to your specific tastes, there are many sites that offer customs without the wait

I made the same statement last year, that I was done with factory knives. Then I bought a carbon fiber Spyderco Dragonfly from Turber, A Kershaw Riccochet, A Microtech Kestral and I have a BM 42 on pre-order at NWC...and I was sitting here yesterday looking for a another Spyderco (that carbon fiber dragonfly is cool). So I guess I'm saying good luck but there are factory knives worth having.

It's also a matter of maturity. For some people as they age their taste improves and so does their budget. Although I'm poor, I can afford nicer knives now than four years ago.

For me, however, it's also a matter of finding a couple of makers I really like. Since owning my first Hossom knives, I've vowed to die with the largest collection of Hossom knives on the planet. www.hossom.com But, given my poverty, I'd better die when I'm 643 because that's how long it will take for me to purchase them!

Customs... I am sick of 'em. I am done with them as soon as I get the ones I have on order-- two Running Dogs, Hossom, Schott, Hallberg and a Polkowski. Okay, maybe, after a Lightfoot...

MAN, I sure hope they aren't addicting!

Waiting on my first two custom knives to be born at the moment .... with the prices of customs, I can't afford to get hooked on these now

They are no more addicting than food, water, and O2. One custom leads to another, and another, and another

Gus I have it on good authority that you are known to own at least ___ custom knives.

(Left it blank 'cause I don't really know the number but it is more than one)

I will say that it is the first lie I have ever posted on Blade Forums. Felt funny doing it even in jest.

Dwight, I am really looking foreward to meeting you sometime (at least at the Blade Show). Tell D.K.G. I said hello.

I pity the poor fools who try an intervention to get rid of my habit!

Drove to Chicago's west side last night to get a custom fix from a street dealer. Couldn't score any damascus, but I did get a nickel bag of MOP and mastadon ivory shop scraps. I think it was cut with a little ivory micarta, though, because my nose really burns, and I've got the runs...
