Aren't non-knife people fun?

The best are the "key" people. The ones that will happly spend a 1/2 hour sawing through packing tape with their house keys:(.

LOL, I've been handed the key before. I reach into my pocket to grab my knife and before I know it some quick-draw McGraw is thrusting his keys at me to cut whatever it is. I have quite a difficult time not breaking out into laughter when they do that. Anyway, I've got to work on speeding up my "draw" I think.

I gave my girlfriend a new wenger SAK classic. It has a little serrated sharp blade and within a day she promptly cut at least two of her fingers inadvertently, just by opening looking. I found it mildly ausiong as she wasnt seriously hurt. I still have my thumbs.

Lol. Where i used to work, i did a lot of packing and shipping, and I was cutting stuff constantly. I would carry a Gerber microlight LST, a EDI gen 2, stockman, and sometimes a leatherman supertool. If anyone needeed a blade, the boss would send them to me. I also started sharpening their kitchen knives, too. They were sooo dull, they couldnt cut paper. U could see the thick white light reflecting off of the edge where it had gone dull. the edge was completely flat, and they couldnt figure out how to sharpen it. One tried to do it, but was trying to regrind a Henkels with a sharpening stone..grinding the bevel, not the edge. Lol. I took them home, put my standard sharp edge on them, came back in the next day and started slicing tissue paper horizontally. :) They were impressed. I sharpened 21 kitchen knives in 3 days, and got an order for a custom paring knife. The lady promptly cut herself the first day she had the paring knife :) A2 steel is wicked :)

At another job, i had some knives that cracked during HT, so I ground them with a flat point and made box knives out of them, and brought them into work. they had a 1" long blade, and were outcutting the little razor knives the other people were using. Everyone wanted me to make them a custom knife. But when i told them the price, they didnt want one. Lol. the price was $25 for a custom box cutter neck knife in 1084 and powder coated.

I always carry a knife and have never worked anywhere that won't allow me to do so. Through out HS I carried one and on to college I followed the same tradition. It never fails that a teacher will ask "Does anyone have a knife, I need to cut _________" Now, seeing as how it is against HS and College policy to carry such items, I never responded but instead laughed to myself as the dolts spent 30 minutes looking for sissors or trying to tear it apart with keys and teeth. At least in college some of the prof. are smart enough to carry pocket knives, which allows me to tell which teachers it's cool to clean my fingernails around and which are not. The policy never specifically mentions knives, but I know they are included in the "weapon" clause. Oh well, gotta catch me to search me and since the only security guard is in his 70s and spends most of his day behind the wheel of a golf cart, there isn't a very good chance of that happening.

I have a good friend who is obviously not a knife person. However, he started to take an interest in my Large Sebenza. He's a bus company owner/mechanic and appreciates simply made functional things, like the Sebenza. He really had no use for such a large knife and asked about smaller versions. I promptly directed him to the Umfaan, which he fell in love with and bought. Well, I knew what he had planned to use it for: everything he previously used his tiny Gerber for. That included scraping head gaskets, cutting hoses and belts, opening mail, cleaning out small openings in things, and, God forbid, prying. Well, after about 2 weeks I asked to look at it cuz I also like the little bugger. Just as I expected, it was dull as a butter knife. I asked if he wanted me to sharpen it (either on the Sharpmaker or Edge Pro). He said "No, I have no need for a knife as sharp as you make them. Sharp edges scare me"
WTF!!!!!!!!!!
Oh well, it takes all kinds. I just cringe every time I think how he uses that fine little knife.

i work in a local pharmacy and most of the pharmacists who work there are gun knuts so whenever i get a new knife they always want to check it out.
my other coworkers, now thats a different story. I ussually get the ever popular "what do you need a knife for" now most of them call me "killer" or "rambo" because they know i carry more than one knife. i even got a cute picture drawn of me pulling my strider out of my pants and slicing a customers head off (it even had the tiger stripes).

but EVERY time someone needs to open a box who do they come to??? yeah thats right, and you know what i say to them

NO!!!! muhahahahahahahahaha
:D
I think someday im gonna buy a Strider MT or somethin and wear it in a shoulder harness just to scare the crap out of them
