(Refrain from spotting ebay auctions as per forum rules)

The seller foolishly chose a gallery pic where the fffbm was barely visible, and didn't specify immediately in the title that it was a sage fatty. Even my eyes skipped over it a couple times before I noticed that it was a sage fat mistress going for $365 with less than 24 hours to go and no reserve! But then he pulled the auction because he wasn't getting the price he wanted.... aggh. So close. :barf:

Or maybe someone offered him a lot more and sold it on the side....no fees, probably took the sure deal.

Im sure he would have gotten what he paid if he was just patient. Ones like that usually jump quite a bit the last 15 minutes.

I'm pretty sure the seller is a regular here on the forums and knows the value of those beauties.

I know, but that doesn't console me on missing what would've been a good score, even paying the original BCS price would've been a good buy.

Don't be impatient.
I'm pretty sure Skunk and the company store will have more FBM goodies for us. :foot:

I thought we have been over this already. Closed auction are OK, no? It would be better if the poster included this info, to save the mods the work of checking.

I did. I said in the last line that he pulled the auction before its close, and basically the whole post was about expressing disappointment that it was closed, so I thought that should be pretty evident that the auction is not an active one. I also didn't think that it was against any rules to post a dead auction. I guess I could've made a big label or something.

I've tried it on a few but always got "i'm going to let the auction ride out" response... when I don't do it on one I really want... someone else does and gets it. :(

.

I'll admit it. I've done it a few times on items (not always knives) on Ebay. Worked about half-the-time.

I'm just polite here. On Ebay and the like, I'm ruthless. ;)

Yes sir Eric, I committed quite a few foolish acts with that particular auction listing. I posted in haste with poor pics and without thought of the auction ending on Memorial Day weekend. There are were also quite a few fatties on the block at the time. :o

The FFFBM's are hot off the presses. I'd fare better listing a Heavy Heart or Hell Razor and holding the fatties for a season. The FFFBM is certainly a "can't miss" blade. I just "hogged-up" too many and shot my discretionary INFI income like a dummy with Blade less than two weeks away!

Dave's right, I'm here a good bit of the time. I just generally don't post unless I'm drunk. Dennis nailed it too. I'm a pretty nice guy, but bidness is bidness! :D

Send him a PM and ask. He's a fair dude.

I was the guy who had the knife at 365. I had a max bid of 450. Then the guy pulls it. I've had a deal go south on one of these on the forum, and then on feebay. I've about had it:(

Well if 450 was your highest bid you wouldnt have won it so you shouldnt feel like the deal went south on you. If you do a search on completed listings, "buy it nows" are going for more.

First of all, its none of your business. 450 was my maximum bet at the time. I would have chased it over 550, because I wanted the knife. What I don't like is people putting up a no reserve auction and pulling out. If your not willing to take what your offered, don't do it no reserve. Period. I bought one anyway, from ohiomitch, who is a great guy, so ones coming my way. But I'll never do business with the guy who pulled the knife ever again. He lost a potential customer.

Last week, I tried to buy the same knife on the forums. I posted a "I'll take it" and asked the seller where to send the PMO. I leave town over the weekend, only to return Monday with a PMO and find the guy has already sold it behind my back because he "couldn't get a confirmation". Like I'm supposed to carry a computer along with me all weekend in case the seller gets cold feet. Ridiculous.

BTW, who asked you for your opinion?

Bob

Alright folks, let's keep it in check. I am sure gimmejr meant no offense, he was likely just giving advice. Let's all remember that text isn't capable of conveying the complete message intended like a face to face conversation.

You gotta love on DA Fatties....;)

How did that skinny CBT get in that shot?

So, had he said "oh man, that really sucks, you were robbed", would you have responded the same way?

You post, you get responses, some in agreement, some not.

Grow up.
