I looked at the thread in question and now agree with Bob that the seller jumped the gun.
As the first responder to the sale thread, Bob posted on 5/19 at 12:23 pm:
Ill take one of the Sage Fatty FBM's if they are new and unused.

Then, when it was clear the knife was being sold out from under him, he posted at 7:30 pm on 5/21:
Paul, check your email. I have a MO for 450 in hand for the sage fatty FBM. Please do not sell this knife to another individual. I said I would take in on Saturday, and today is the first day I could get to the post office for the MO.
Bob
Given that it was the weekend, I surely would have given you a little more leeway. One thing you might do, Bob, is allow emails to be sent to you via BF. That would at least give a seller a sense that he/she is getting in touch with you. Please note also you have a low post count. That might have made some difference in the seller's mind.
Also, you don't say whether you communicated with the seller and let him know the MO would be coming in a couple of days. He *does* have email activated here at BF. I think it's very important that you email or PM sellers and let them know that you need payment details and that payment is forthcoming. Communication is key.
And the seller too has a low post count. Unfamiliar with the ways of BF, maybe? I certainly would have given you more time. I have had folks send an "I'll take it" only to never be heard from again. Case in point:

Not trying to turn this into a GB&U thread, but just want to stress that
communication is key.
