Arghh, Lost my CaseBose Dogleg Jack

One turned up in the washing machine a few months ago....obviously fallen from a pocket and by good luck rescued before the wash started!

Sorry to hear that!

Maybe it will turn up. Years ago I had a little Boker ceramic lockback with a titanium frame. I carried it daily - it even went into the MR scan room with me. Hence the ceramic/titanium combination. :)

Then one day I just couldn't find it - searched everywhere. Finally gave up and ordered another. Months later as I was cleaning out my car to sell, guess what I found under the front seat?! I still have both of those knives.

This is what makes me nervous about trying out a traditional pocket knife. I'm mostly a pocket clip folder guy.

For me, it's a lot easier to keep tabs on a knife carried in pocket rather than clipped to a pocket. Back when I used to EDC a Spyderco, I got tired of the clip catching on stuff. That's one of the reasons I went completely back to traditional slippies. YMMV.

Don't hesitate to check the same places two or three times either. I've done that before where you just seem to miss it the first time or two.

I had that happen this weekend with a Daytimer archive binder I was looking for. I turned every leaf I knew to turn. I looked all over the "closet" we are storing clothes and other "not being used right now" stuff - several times. In my instance I was looking for a different color that it actually was, but I had looked directly at it at least half a dozen times over the course of two days, but didn't see it until I started looking for the size and shape instead of just the color.
