Any input here would be most appreciated. I have contacted this outfit over the past several weeks by snail mail, e-mail (twice), and left a voice mail yesterday regarding some knives I wish to sell. I sent description and photos. Several thousand dollars in value based on what I see on the internet. No response. Are they still in business?

They just shipped me a knife purchase a day ago. Definitely still in business. I'd give them a ring.

I also called, n guy sent pics email, not fancy but good enough pics to try them for the first time, got a nice Boker Merlin with rosewood, n690N AND Gorsky lock, make in Soligen

Did you try using their internal messaging system?

See: Contacting Arizona Custom Knives

I contacted them recently using this method and got a response almost immediately.

That said, a 25% consignment fee is a steep price to pay to sell your knives thru ACZ. Buying is a different matter.

If you're willing to take a 25% hit on your sale price, would it be better to try to sell it on BF (or even EB) at a 10-15% discount from your target price 1st? Or have you tried that already?

Thanks for the suggestion and I did just use their internal messaging system just now. I don't have the interest in selling the 0items myself, so I'm willing to accept the haircut in a consignment sale.

Appreciate everyone's input.

Well, there are a lot of people who are selling knives on BF w/minimal effort. Not even posting pics or a detailed description of the knives.

It only costs $30 (or $35) for a Gold Membership to allow you to do so.

And I'm sure if you offer anything for sale at a 25% discount from current values (which you can as a Gold Member), you'd have NO problem selling everything that you want to consign to ACK w/a lot less trouble to members of the BF community who would be very grateful.

They’ve been very responsive with me in the past, so I don’t have an answer for the current lack of communication.
As other’s stated, I’ve noticed regular inventory update’s on their site. I would try another round of communication.

Aside from the 25% commission, they say it can take up to 4 weeks to list your items. Then there is another month after sale for payment. I would just sell here and use PP G&S. I think it will work out better, but that is up to you.

I've sent knives to AZCK a few times in the past to consign. Although they do take a large cut, the convenience factor is nice. I consigned a few customs that I knew could fetch high prices but which I was embarrassed to personally list at such prices (custom Striders, that kind of thing).

I just received a custom k ife from them a few weeks ago. Still going strong. I've only ever bought through them, though, never sold through them.

I've had AZCK sell quite a few knives for me over the years with zero issues. And yes, I know that 25% is a sizable commission, but it works for me and what I need. I don't want to deal with crazy buyers, payment issues, shipping problems/delays/lost packages, or any other weirdness. Just seen too many horror stories on the forums these last few years for me.

Heh, that's valid. AZCK and pay then 25% for the plausible deniability factor.

I see that just today, AZCK has a bow from Rambo First Blood blah blah blah. Apparently it is 1 of 12 made and the asking price is a drop in the bucket at a cool 75K!!! It's not even a knife and now they are selling it. I guess the 25% commission on a 75K sale was just too good to pass up. Whatever...
