Arizona Custom Knives

So, AZCK is a horrible company because some "ignorant schmuck" didn't do his research? I don't think so. AZCK doesn't get to set the price for consignments...that's on the consignor. If anything, you should call out the consignor (which would be ridiculous too), not the consignee. AZCK is only filling their role, and the consignor is just trying to break even. I'd call it a leason learned..don't buy something without doing a little research.

I really have purchased many thousands of Dollars worth of knives from ACK and I have always had excellent service from them. In the past when something that I want has been listed at to high a price, they have approached the seller and we have come to an arrangement.

The fundamental difference between me and the OP is that I know the value of what I purchase.

I wonder what the OP would have done had he purchased this from Amazon or eBay? This item was listed at a price and the OP agreed to that price when he clicked the "BUY NOW" button. The OP received what he purchased in the described and photographed condition. Why then is AZK at fault?

Willing buyer, willing seller, goods delivered in described condition. How then does this warrant a GBU thread?

OP, AZCK is a consignment site, yes? This means they are just a platform for goods, they don't actually set the prices or supply stock. So really you have the seller to blame. Although I suppose it'd be nice if they didn't allow markups, but a perfect world this is not

It’s called capitalism. You don’t have to buy from them. You don’t have to like them. It’s a free economy. I’ve never looked twice at their blades or what’s for sale; because it’s all priced over the top, but that’s my opinion.

Therefore, I simply don’t patronize that entity.

But did the new one come pre-rusted or was the buyer going to have to rust it themselves:)
I see nothing wrong with the way AZCK handled it. I am sure they did everything they could to get the seller to lower the price. They get no money from having a site of items so overpriced no one buys. They could have refused the item, and likely considered it, but decided the market would eventually force the seller to adjust. Lucky for the seller a lazy buyer who didn't do their research came along. Lucky for the buyer they will likely go on in ignorant bliss never knowing they paid too much.

Yes, but while you guys were paying attention to this, you didn't even notice "the sky is falling". Remember Henny Penny the nursery rhyme?

They identified it as a replica, and offered it for what the consigner asked. That being said, they should've identified the maker once known, not doing that is kind of : /. That being said, no one ever cries when the misidentification happens in their favor :). Such is life with second hand dealers.

small local owned ace hardware sells some things for more than the lowes, home depot, and walmart. guess small owned business is shady and ripping off people also.

i dont see an issue. dont like the price move on. no one needs the price police. if they do they shouldnt be making buying decisions. opinions will differ and that's fine. this is mine.

I've been an AZCK customer for quite a few transactions. If I didn't like their listed price I made an offer. They would contact their consignor and get back to me within a day or two with a counteroffer which I could chose to accept or not.

I have never had an issue with them and to this day would highly recommend. In this case I think the OP has no standing to complain or criticize. The buyer had the responsibility to research or make his/her own offer. AZCK complied with the wishes of their consignor - a key component of their business model. Well yes, customers are key components as well but the onus is on the customer to know what's up. AZCK wasn't looking to scam anyone. My 2¢

As the OP has cowardly deleted his post (he has only 3 posts in over a year of BF membership) I urge the mods to review, rename and lock this thread removing the "BAD" prefix.
It is very unfair to ACK to continue this charade.

As for Carson Fan.......welcome to the ignore list of every BF member who has read this thread:thumbsdown::rolleyes:
