Ark! Why didn't you tell us that you met McHammer?!?

Nobody in that video likes the song because its good or cool, its the opposite. It is bizzare and horrible (And if you think thats bad you should see the original video---WTF!!!!!) and the only reason people like it is because they are robot sheep (thats right, not even real sheep) that like what everyone else is liking at the moment--a good way to spot these trends are when the old people are doing it too (4:17)---like that superman dance everyone was doing a few years back--no class!

Everyone here seriously needs to accept a new culture in music. I'm a classic rock loving dude myself,(Rock albums are all I've got in my car) but I can not only admit but enjoy the new material being produced when it's done well, creatively and with some musical talent. PSY has a good song and video out there, and it's reflected by its popularity. You guys need to remember what people were saying about rock and roll when it came out. Lighten up and enjoy the music. If you don't enjoy it, then fine, but remember that others do like it.

Everyone is allowed to like whatever they want, and we'll just poke a little fun their way. I too like new material when done right. PSY (IMHO) was not one of those. lol. Just because it's popular doesnt make it good. :D (as reflected by Britney Spears or Hannah Montana)

The thing about Hannah Montana or Britney Spears is that they only appealed to a certain portion of the population, a rather small one two that was very very vocal. PSY on the other hand, has appealed to a HUGE demographic on an international scale- Not to mention that he's not even part of the western world. I don't know too many people that have an actual disliking of the song and video, and the few people that I do know that dislike it, generally dislike most things popular (We call them hipsters)

PSY, whether or not he is putting out the best music, definitely has a great talent in at least appealing to an audience.

To say Britney Spears is no good is to say 12 year old girls are no good. Gotta know what audience the music is for. I think the Beatles are no good, but I am also not an old guy. Saying something is no good just as a blanket statement is silly. Lots of people think the music I like is just noise but to me there is nothing better. To call something bizarre or horrible just because you do not understand it is close minded.

I'm 45 and enjoy it, I even do the "invisible horse" dance with my 5 and 8 year old when it comes on. Got to be the coolest thing about having kids, you can act like a fool, and nobody gives you grief about it! And the PSY and MC Hammer performance, IMHO, was one of the best things I have seen on TV in a long time.
 
My wife showed me that video after Southpark parodied it and I had no clue what they were referring to. It's no worse than any other dance club, computer-generated, over-produced, trendy, soulless, talentless music out there. As a side note, based on the video, I'm guessing "gangnam" is Korean for "bisexual?" :D

No, Gangnam is a province in Seoul, that is fairly well to do. The song is actually making fun of people who claim to be "Gangnam Style", in effect posers, as those who live in Gangnam don't make a big fuss about their wealth.
