Hello all. The show was excellent. Makers, collectors, suppliers all having a great time. It was a great show, one that will become a constant for me.

Here is one of the knives I picked up and an extra bonus was it became an award winner.

I hope you enjoy, I know I sure will.

Congrats to both of you.
Love those long clip bowie/fighters of John's.
Paul's leather looks great.

This one will fit nicely in your collection.

Every time that I saw you this weekend there was a big grin on your face so it was obvious that you were having fun. The Arkansas show is always a good time for makers and buyers both and I look forward to it every year.

Talk about your "rogues gallery":D Nice score. That little Arkansas show has become quite the gathering of makers and fans of big pointy forged things of late!

Great gets, but the most important part is now I know what Jon and Paul look like!

Looks like you were all havin' a great time!

Best,
Bob

That is a good pic of the three of you. congratulations on another super nice knife.

That is a terrific piece and it was up against some tough competition - Arkansas is bowie country.

Wait until Kevin or John tell you about the amazing juggling tricks that particuar knife was subjected to.

Congrats to John and Jon.

Roger

Great knife, excellent sheath, but who the heck is the "pretty boy" standing between John and Paul holding the knife;):D

Marcel

Excellent snag, Jon !
I'm a big fan of John White's Bowies and fighters also.
Dressed up by Paul.

Nice group photo. :D

What a great show. Getting to meet Jon in person really adds to the fun I always have when one of my knives finds a home.

That steak dinner the "BladeForums Mafia" shared was great, too. You ain't "Dined Out" til you've been out with Paul Long in the group!

John

P.S. When my nerves recover, I'll relate the 14 year-old kid," Crouching Dragon ," Bowie twirling, creep story!

Good seeing you Roger and I agree that winning 'Best Bowie' in Arkansas is HUGE for a knifemaker. Obviously, a magnificent knife.

In regard to the juggling act, anyone think seeing someone spinning a large ring guard bowie is scary? Well a young man (14-15) walked up to John's table picked up his award winning bowie and started spinning/flipping it by the shell guard.

Both John and I saw it at about the same time. I was setting behind the CKCA table about 20' away and John was standing talking about 12' away.
Don't know which was more impressive, the agility in the kid handled the knife or the agility in John taking it away for him. John's years sure hasn't slowed him down much. ;)

In either case, this event could have easily had a very bad ending.

Jon

Enjoy the bowie. I got John's winning hunter from a few years ago.

Hope to have a couple more in a few years if everything works out.

John and Paul, the work is still looking good.

Jon,

Congratulations on getting a super knife, John's knives are really something. It really looks very clean.

Paul also did a great job on the sheath.

Great stuff congrats to all on a great weekend

Congrats on a great knife and some fantastic leather

Another fine grab Jon, and fantastic work Paul and John! Terry told me the "spinning" story on the phone this morning:eek:unreal!!

Hey, I had dinner with those three guys Saturday night at one of the most expensive restaurants I've ever seen. There were eight of us and it sure was a fun time. Paul owes me about $600 for psychiatric consulting fees. The rest of the time me and Jon were jawboning about our collecting experiences, only to find out that we operate similarly.;) Jon, admit it, you're actually in the midst of a new knife orgasm with a wave or two each week. Great scores, every one of them. Dang, that John White makes a fine knife. After we talked a while I realized I was speaking with a man who will comfortably wear the mantle of greatness in this business. He's a gentleman too, you can tell by his crisp new Western hat.
